Capuchino Mustangs
Mustangs earn Lake Division Championship

Perhaps it was the early start time, but the Mustangs allowed a 69 yard time consuming drive that resulted in a Carlmont score to start the game....but after that....it was ALL Capuchino! The defense was stout throughout the remainder of the day, making key tackles for losses and pounding the Carlmont offensive line to effectively grinding their offense to a halt.  On the offensive side of the ball, your mustangs used a good mixture of runs and passes to dominate Carlmont. Several key plays:  The mustangs converted all 6 of their extra points as well as booting a 23 yard field goal enroute to the 45-13 victory, a 65 yard touchdown BURST by first year football player Senior Rocky Yeung, a 64 yard touchdown run by Ewing that reminded the sidelines of Cal graduate Marshawn Lynch's touchdown run for Seattle several years ago...if you weren't at the game to see it, well...it was truly unforgettable...a 4 yard QB sneak by Paea Dauwe that caught even the Cap sidelines by surprise...and the ability for the great group of backup players to play a good portion of the final quarter and get not only a taste of the action, but to contribute....Like the World Series Champion Giants, this Cap squad is truly a T-E-A-M.....

  • With this victory, the 6 Seniors on the team that have played all four years have accomplished a league championship in each of them!

  • This Cap football team has earned a C.C.S. playoff berth for the first time since 2002...

  • It is the first outright league championship for the Mustangs since 1989!

  • Ewing update: 30 carries for 297 yards....leaving him approximately 254 yards short of the county rushing record going into the Battle of the Strip game against Mills next Saturday.

  • As Coach says: "...there's still work to be done and games to be played..." Congrats Mustangs!

  • If you're a fan of Capuchino or Mills, plan on attending the game November 10th, 2:00 at Mills for the Battle of the Strip!
